The Employee Benefits Accounting specialist provides quality services to Novartis Group entities, securing company assets by applying tight controls in the financial transactions, while providing accurate financial information and timely reporting of balances. This role supports the General Ledger processes within the NOCC, ensuring its quality and effectiveness. Moreover, this role ensures that systems, documentation, compliance and reporting are in place and actively contributes continuous improvement projects to provide highly effective and efficient end-to-end processes to the Novartis divisions..

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensure timely resolution (including escalations) and cleans overdue items identified.
• Ensure proper accounting of financial transactions and accounting specific questions are well addressed and solved Proactively challenges the Status Quo and comes up with fact based recommendations
• Proactively review accounts to ensure all financial transactions are valid and recorded to ensure accuracy of reported data
• Perform period –end closing and reporting in accordance with local laws and Novartis required standards
• Review and/or record requested company cross-changes and manual journal entries including proper documentation
• Ensure application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Post Graduate in Finance/ accounting /economics
• 4+ years’ experience of accounting experience, with in-depth functional expertise
• SAP knowledge
• Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements
• Good communication skills, leadership exposure
• Previous experience with operations of financial shared services

You’ll receive:
