About the Role

The Site Automation Engineer is responsible to establish, maintain and improve the automation processes with respect to production equipment, utilities and facilities. The person coordinates all automation projects and initiatives and provides cost-effective and efficient technical solutions, standards, strategies and act as a competence center for automation and interface to IT.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Establish, maintain and continuously improve Computerized Systems Life Cycle Management.
• Establish and maintain new / modified end-to-end OT services / processes / procedures for Automation / Manufacturing / QC equipment
• Develop and design Process Control Systems and implement Coding / Recipes (DCS / Scada / PLC’s / Control Networks).
• Implement Software Change Controls associated with automation / system changes
• In projects, prepare Equipment Specifications and System Requirements (e.g. User Requirement Specification, develop test specification / plan for commissioning & qualification, performs FAT/SAT/commissioning
• In projects, manage deficiencies and deviations and perform provisional and final project handover
• Prepare monthly engineering reports with key KPIs (Capex, Maintenance, HSE and Quality)
• Local point of contact for Global Automation team

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Degree in Engineering, Informatics or equivalent.
• Fluent written and spoken English and proficiency in Italian.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position within the Pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven experience in resolving software / automation issues and maintain reliable operation of all equipment control / automation and related systems.
• Project management skills including resource planning, budget control and quality and leadership experience for the management of external resources.
